Residents of Gwira Banso cry for over poor telecommunication network

Residents of Gwira Banso in the Nzema East District of the Western Region of Ghana are appealing to authorities to urgently help them access telecommunications network.

Residents say the lack of telecommunications network hamper effective communications in the area which is making life very difficult for them.

According to some, the situation is affecting their businesses as teachers refuse postings to the area because they cannot have access to internet to do their research work and teach the school children ICT.

They added that teachers have to travel long distances to access internet services which according to them does not enhance teaching and learning. Angel Fm reporter in the Western Region, Herry Nana Fynn in an interview with the assembly member for Gwira Banso electoral area Mrs Augustina Annor-Kofi indicated that inaccessibility of telecommunication network is hugely affecting business in the communities, adding that we are in a technological era and therefore the residents in these communities will continue to wallow in poverty should the government fail to provide them with basic social amenities essential in our daily lives.
