Crop farming in Africa is an occupation whose players are usually less regarded; since they tend to earn very low incomes from their produce annually.

The aforementioned have been the case because farming activities in Africa are mostly performed on a small scale. In addition, African farmers fail to process the raw materials of their produce into finished goods.

However, it must be put on record that farming when performed on a large scale by employing the practice of mechanised farming and the processing of raw materials into finished goods increases productivity and income.

Several cash crops survive on the African soil, notable among them are cocoa, palm nut tree, cashew, maize etc.

The palm tree provides several benefits ranging from palm oil, palm kernel oil, palm wine, palm nut soup, alcoholic beverages, fire wood, brooms, woven baskets etc.

Considering palm oil, its made from palm fruits, one of the local fruits in the world.

Also, about 50% of palm oil is saturated, contributing to the development of arteries in the human body.

Again, the red color of palm oil indicates that palm oil contains enough carotenoids; which is a very potent antioxidant and helps to improve the immune system.

It is without doubt that consuming palm oil has the potency to help our bodies to fight against COVID-19; since experts have made it clear that a strong and a vibrant immune system is able to fight against the virus.
