In the past few years a number of the Kenyan youth have been joining active politics and winning political seats.

As the 2022 general elections near a number of Kenyans have come out to show their interest in running for seats. This includes former Multimedia University student leader Simeon Omwoyo Maranga who has come out to say he will be running for the top seat.
"After months of soul searching I have decided to offer myself to run to be president of the republic of kenya. We shall bring back money to the people." He wrote on his social media.
He is the current leader of a movement known as Vijana Economic Front (VEF) which seeks to empower the Kenyan youth.
The 27 year old believes its time young people take power from the older generation.
This is the second time Omwoyo Maranga will be running for a political seat having vied for a Member of county assembly back in 2017.
Omwoyo is an engineer by profession having graduated from Multimedia University back in 2018.
Omwoyo Maranga joins the league of William Ruto, Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi and Gideon Moi who are also interested in running for the top seat in 2022.
