What you Didn't Know About Heartburn

Heartburn occurs when stomach acid backs up into the tube that carries food from your mouth to your stomach (esophagus).

Normally when you swallow, a band of muscle around the bottom of your esophagus (lower esophageal sphincter) relaxes to allow food and liquid to flow down into your stomach. Then the muscle tightens again.

If the lower esophageal sphincter relaxes abnormally or weakens, stomach acid can flow back up into your esophagus (acid reflux) and cause heartburn. The acid backup may be worse when you're bent over or lying down,. Heart burn is also caused when your taking food and at the same time you accompanied it by water, since food is metabolized by an enzyme called salivary amylase of alpha 1-4, glycosidic bond. This enzyme will fail to metabolized food when food is mixed with water.

Water will wash a way off this enzyme hence no binding will take place, reaching into the stomach HCl will not operate as usual due to initial interruption.

Heart burn can also causes ulcers when its not controlled, then finally ulcer can results to cancer, control heart burn before its too late.

What you have to do take little acidic meal, minimize use of water when your eating take drugs that neutralised acid.
