Big Blow To Governor Obado As Court Makes A Ruling Over Sharon Otieno Murder Case

Migori county governor Okoth Obado has suffered a big blow today after court declined his request to postpone Sharon Otieno murder case.

Governor Okoth obado, his co-accused Casper obiero and Michael oyammo through their lawyers Counsel Kioko Kilukumi representing Obado and SC prof Tom ojienda for Oyammo wanted the matter to be adjourned till Movement restrictions are eased in the Covid-19 hotspot counties.

However, Sharon Otieno's family lawyer Daniel Njoroge and prosecution, vehemently opposed the adjournment stating that the matter has not commenced nearly 3 years after the murder of Sharon and her unborn child which has been very unfair to the family.

In what appears as a reprieve to Sharon's family and a blow to governor Okoth Obado, Justice Cecilia Githua has directed that the matter proceeds on Monday July 12th to 15th at a tent outside the Milimani Law Courts, Nairobi.

Obado is the main suspect in the murder of the former Rongo University student and her unborn baby that has remained topic of discussion when the name Obado is mentioned.
