The Ghana Police Service has finally granted the request of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stage their intended simultaneous demonstrations on Tuesday 6the July, 2021 in Accra.
The demonstrations as cited by the party are as a result of insecurity, lack of Job for the youth and then demand justice for the killing of the three deceased in the Ajura brouhaha.
On Thursday, 1st July 2021, the police declined the request of the youth of the largest opposition party, the right to embark on a series of demonstrations to express their displeasure in a number of issues they deem necessary to be addressed by the government.
Meanwhile the youth organizer of the NDC, George Opare Addo stated that the Ghana Police service have rescinded their earlier decision of not been able to provide security for the party during the demonstrations.
Several calls have been made by social activists and other pressure groups to allow the NDC to demonstrate. They stated that if hundreds of people could attend Sir John's funeral, thousands of people could attend a match between Accra Hearts of Oak and Accra great Olympics among other gatherings, why can't there be a demonstration.
The Ghana police service has however heeded to the calls of the youth of the NDC.
Let's watch of for this massive demonstration.
