The report from the Judicial panel of inquiry created to probe the shooting of peaceful protesters at Lekki tollgate during the protest against the brutality carried out by the Special Anti Robbery Squad(SARS) sparked mixed reactions both online and offline. The Lekki shooting claim made Nigerians curious about who ordered the shooting, who turned off the street lights and who removed the surveillance cameras.
The panel reported that security operatives fired live rounds at peaceful protesters as DJ Switch claimed last year. DJ Switch had shared a video of some soldiers shooting at protesters whose only form of defence was the national flag. The peaceful protest turned violent across different states after it got hijacked by hoodlums.
However, the Minister of information, Lai Mohammed from the onset flagged DJ Switch's claim as a hoax and a rumour created to cause chaos in the country. Many Nigerians had to question their sanity after Lai Mohammed stated that there was no way such an incident would happen and nobody came out to report to them that their relatives were killed.
A few days after President Muhammadu Buhari tasked state governments to look into the report of the EndSARS judicial panel, Lai Mohammed came out again to brief the press and he still maintained his stance on the Lekki tollgate incident.

He rejected the notion that Nigerian security operatives killed innocent Nigerians at Lekki tollgate. He emphasized the fact that there was no evidence to support the report. The murder case is a serious offence and such allegations need to be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. Anyways, let's keep our fingers crossed and watch how things pan out at the end.
