It has emerged that both president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto's rivalry might be irreconcilable.

This is after a top source disclosed to the Star newspaper that the two used to send each other some text messages that showed the magnitude of their enmity.

“From the messages that I was shown, the differences between the two are personal and very deep. It will take a miracle for them to be ironed out," one source said. His opinion was echoed by other leaders allied to both president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

This is even after it emerges that the Catholic church leader Cardinal John Njue had tried his level best to unite the two but it was all in vain.

Njue who is said to be a close ally of the two leaders is said to have been approached by the speaker of the National Assembly Justin y to help with the matter.

He is said to have met the two leaders differently but non of them was ready to forgive the other over the issues that were drifting them apart.

“Muturi met with Cardinal Njue for hours where he briefed him on the widening rift between the two leaders. His request was that since the Cardinal enjoyed a good relationship with the two, only he could help bring the two leaders back together, a source aware of the effort said."

After failing, the Catholic bishop is said to have given a report to the speaker of the National Assembly notifying him that he had failed to unite the two leaders.

Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi has already noted that he did his level best but ended up failing in uniting the two national leaders just like others made their efforts to unite them.
