The construction of the Kenol Marua Dual Carriageway has been ongoing for a long time now. The results of the work is a beautiful road snaking round the Kakuzi hills through the slopes of mount Kenya to Marua in Nyeri county. The road has transformed the region to a wonderful scenic view.
Motorists operating in the region are now experiencing a smooth traffic flow due to the phased reopening of different section. The move is decongesting the road and have significantly reduced traffic jam which was previously a nightmare. The road is set to be officially opened and set to full use by June this year.
The road have transformed the economic status of the region where it traverses with business people and farmers being the main beneficiaries. Motorists enjoy a short time, approximately 30 minutes drive from Sagana to Thika, a journey which previously took over an hour using the single lane road.
