"Alikuwa Akistruggle Na Life" Sadness As Man Attached To DPP's Office Dies By Suicide After Partying

A 34-year-old man, Kevin Gesire who was a State Counsel attached to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) was found dead in his house on Tuesday after spending previous night partying with friends. Reports also indicate that hours before being found lifeless, his car BMW 116 was involved in road accident where it rammed into guard rails on his way home after the night out.

It is no clear if it was an attempt to kill himself but the lawyer did not report to work at Kitui law courts on Tuesday morning. Friends and relatives were shocked to learn about his death after the police broke into his house and found his body dangling from the washroom window.

His senior colleague, Brian Okwemwa said that Kevin did not show any signs of depression but had left a suicide note indicating that he was struggling with life. The suicide note said that he was not happy for missing to clinch the magistrate post during the recent interviews.

He added that the deceased went partying after work on Monday evening until late in the night when he decided to return home and on the way, he rammed on the guard rails. The friends helped him tow the car to his house.

Kitui Central Sub-county police commander Crispus Ogutu denied claims that he might have been killed. He said his house was locked from outside and had a belt round his neck. His said they are currently treating the matter as suicide while probe commences.

According to Nation, a friend at DPP's office who sought anonymity said the deceased's life was marred by problems sch as debts and marital woes which had led to separation with his wife.
