Kericho Residents Decry Poor State of Health at Sosiot Health Center


Effective medical services are a main concern in every community. Lack or stunted medical services however may in turn hinder the socio-economic developments.

Residents of Sosiot, Kericho West, have lamented over the poor state of medical attention at Sosiot Health Center. This has become a growing concern even as the health facility for the community.

According to residents, the health center lacks proper facilities, drugs among other necessaries. Recent reports revealed that in patients are required to bring along hand gloves which will in turn be used by medical practitioners to attend to them.

Further, patients requiring urgent medical attention are referred to other hospitals. Similarly, patients who require admission have often been turned back.

The hospital's drug store is one but an empty store. Sosiot Health Center has now opted to sending patients to chemists to get the required drugs. Residents from Sosiot now want the County Government of Kericho look into the matter.
