Through his facebook page Kutuny wrote"Met the family of Kamar Etyang from Loima Village in my Constituency who was shortchanged from attending this seasons Olympic even after emerging position two in men's 1500M Olympic trials in Kasarani. I will do a petition at the Parliament on Wednesday over the issue," said that Cherangany member of parliament.

Kutuny is a staunch supporter of president Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga's Building Bridges Initiative which was currently annulled by the High Court judges who termed it as null and void.

Nick Adams wrote "Justice for Etyang...the boy will perform mervelously well and will re-write the story of that family,"

Brian Kibet wrote "Confused politician. Ak/ Olympics body got nothing to do with parliament 🤦🏿‍♂️, wrong place to seek remedy at this point. Now if you want to use parliament , maybe introduce a bill that govern athletes & their salaries,"

Chris says "This is now what we call representation. Athletics Kenya needs to give a comprehensive statement on the issue. It is not enough to ride on the ignorance of young athletes who might as well have an opportunity to be well informed of the preparation process including conducting a test,"

Dennis Melly says "for the love of your constituent's please support Etyang's mother with at least 500,000Ksh as you table the issue on parliament, 2022 ni wewe tena Joshua ,"
