Kwame Nsiah-Apau, also known as Okyeame Kwame and dubbed Rap Doctor, is a Ghanaian musician, songwriter, creative director, and entrepreneur who was born on April 17, 1976.
Kwame Nsiah Apau was born in Ghana's Ashanti Region, in the city of Kumasi. He is the third of six brothers and sisters. Kwaku Nsiah Boamah, dubbed "Flowking Stone," and Kwaku Nsiah Amankwah, dubbed "Kunta Kinte," are his younger brothers and form the hip-hop duo "Bradez."
His parents wanted him to become a doctor, but he was drawn to rap music at a young age, writing his own songs and performing in local shows since he was a student at Kumasi's Anglican Senior High School.
Okyeame Kwame raps and sings primarily in the Twi dialect of Ghana's Akan language. However, due to his versatility, he often performs songs in English. In his native Akan, Okyeame means "linguist (of the royal court)," which he chose to reflect his lyrical fluidity.
Okyeame Kwame is known to have a high sense of fashion. His dripping is top notch and second to none.
