Early drama at the Orlando Stadium as Orlando Pirates defender and captain Happy Jele made contact with the ball with his hand while 18 yard area which resulted in the referee pointing to the penalty spot. Goalkeeper Richard Ofori attempted to protest the decision while Jele stood still not believing what he has just done.

This was the opportunity for the visitors Al Ahli Tripoli to pull one back as the are chasing a two goal deficit. Tripoli players started fighting over on who is going to take the penalty meanwhile the VAR was reviewing the referee's decision.

Just when the penalty was to be taken, VAR officials advised the match official to go and have another look on the VAR monitor which Orlando Pirates will be happy he did. Split second on the monitor saw the match official overturning his decision to rule out the penalty due to ball to hand type of situation.

A major escape for Happy Jele who almost costed his team a two goal lead.
