It is surprising and hard to believe that a girl could be a grandmother at a teenage age. You are probably wondering how old she was when she gave birth to her daughter and at what age the daughter also gave birth.

In December 1884, Mum-Zi got pregnant for Akkiri who was the chief of the Island of Calabar in Nigeria formally called Niger Coast. Mum Zi gave birth to a girl at the age of 8 years, 4 months. Her daughter was named Zi. Zi also got pregnant for a relative of Chief Akkiri. She gave birth at the age of 8 years, 8 months. Mum-Zi was 17 years old when her daughter, Zi, was delivered. This makes Mum-Zi the youngest grandmother in history.
