Check Why Niger State Government Bans Traditional Horse Riding Across The Emirates In The State


The Niger State government has banned the traditional horse riding that usually takes place during sallah celebrations across all the Emirates in the state to forestall the breaking of peace.

This is contained in a statement released by the secretary to the state government, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane in Minna. He said that the ban became necessary to prevent the plan of some bad elements that want to carry out attacks on innocent residents in the state.

He further alerted any individual or group that tends to violate the order to have a rethink as government will deal decisively with anyone found guilty of violating the law.

"Government would not fold its arms and watch any security threat in the state. It shall deal with such threats with utmost seriousness," he said.

He further warned those using online platforms especially the social media to instill fear in populace to desist from such as government would not longer tolerate it. While promising that the security challenges in the state will soon become a thing of the past.

Recall that Niger State has been facing insecurities in recent times ranging from kidnapping, banditry and Boko Haram infiltration.
