Residents of Kiambaa Constituency have expressed their wrath by chasing away a chief who was allegedly deployed as n agent to represent a political party in the ongoing by-election in the area.
In a short video clip shared by the Senator for Murang'a County Honorable Irungu Kang'ata this Thursday afternoon, a crowd is seen chasing a woman who is believed to be a chief away from one of the polling stations while shouting demanding her to vacate the center.
It seemed the Chief was deployed by the Jubilee Party with the Murang'a legislature appearing to condemn the move. "Deployment of chiefs as agents in Kiambaa," Kang'ata captioned the clip.
A section of Kiambaa residents had earlier lamented the move by political parties to deploy government officials who are not even authorized by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
However, it is currently a two-horse race between John Njuguna Wanjiku of the recently formed United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Kariri Njama of the ruling Jubilee party.
