Cleophas Malala, a senator from Kakamega, has warned the leaders of the One Kenya Alliance not to be concerned about winning the presidency in the 2022 general elections.
Malala counseled the quartet, which includes KANU leader Gideon Moi, Ford Kenya party head Moses Wentangula, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, to learn from ODM party leader Raila Odinga's political career.
Despite the pressure from the other partners, the Kakamega senator is among the top lawmakers in the OKA party who have refused to cede ground to the ODM leader.
Gideon Mio, the leader of the KANU, and Kalonzo Musyoka, the leader of the Wiper party, are said to be open to Riala's idea for a unity alliance. The ANC branch of OKA, on the other hand, has stated unequivocally that it will not join forces with the opposition leader.
"I want to reassure Mudavadi and other OKA leaders that they should not be concerned if they lose the elections. Raila has taught us that being in government does not need winning elections. He has served in every government but has never won an election. He stated, "We will not vote Rial again."
