Kenya Railways has launched the Nairobi Commuter Rail Service from Limuru to the CBD at the Central Railways station. This is expected to greatly cut costs for the commuters as well as ease congestion and traffic on the major Nairobi-Nakuru Highway.
The train will be reportedly taking around 2 hours and 2o minutes to traverse from Limuru to Nairobi and the same time to travel back as per the schedules below
The train will be departing Limuru at 5.30 am, passing through Kikuyu at 6.15 am, Dagoretti at 6.48 am and Kibra at 7.16 am before arriving in Nairobi at 7.52 am.
In the evening, the train will be leaving Nairobi at 5.20 pm, pass through Kibra at 5.54 pm, Dagoretti at 6.22 pm and Kikuyu at 6.55 pm, reaching Limuru at 7.52 pm.
The charges will be fairly cheap as it is tipped that commuters will only have to part with Sh 80 for the journey.
