A student of Greenfield University who was among the 22 students abducted from the university’s premises at Kasarami Chikun Local Government Area along Kaduna-Abuja Express way on April 20, 2021, has been reunited with his loved ones after more than 10 days in the custody of his kidnappers.
In a video posted on Twitter by a one-time minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Femi Fani Kayode (FFK), the young male student can be seen with his loved ones hugging and couldn't control their tears.

"One of the students of Greenfield University released earlier today. Thanks be to God. We trust the Lord that the other 16 will be released as well. Our prayers are with the kids and their respective families and all the other victims of kidnap throughout our country."

The young man was kidnapped by suspected bandits alonside 21 other students of the university and a matron of the female hostel. The bandits, who initially contacted the distressed parents and demanded N800 million ransom, have killed five of the students after the parents and the university management were not forthcoming.

The bandits have threatened to kill the remaining students if N100 million ransom and 10 motorcycles are not delivered by Kaduna Government or parents by Tuesday.
A report by Channels TV ealier confirmed the development. The news platform stated that the mother of the student, Lauritta Attahiru, confirmed the release of her son on Tuesday, May 4, but couldn't give more details about the situation.
