Ndivai is a remote village boardering Laikipia county in Ndaragwa constituency of Nyandarua County. It is approximately 7km from Nyeri-Nyahururu highway. Compared to other villages and regions in the same constituency, the village is some few decades behind.
Ndivai secondary, Ndivai Secondary school and Ndivai dispensary are found in the region. Despite these infrastructures, the region has never enjoyed the richness of Nyandarua county. Firstly, the region is a semi arid area and is not connected with water. No boreholes have been dug in this region. During the dry seasons, residents are forced to walk for long distances in search of water.Secondly, most residents are not connected to electricity. Only 3% of the residents enjoy electricity bills at their home, only a few who live near the school. According to the residents, since 2012 leaders have been giving them false promises till to date.
Thirdly, there are no good roads connecting into the village. During the rainy seasons, residents are forced to walk tirelessly for long distances to get access to a good road that will connect them to the nearby tarmac road. The residents are forced by circumstances to build roads without the help of the area leaders.Residents are calling upon the area MP Jeremiah Kioni and the area MCA Gathungu to work together to bring these services closer to them (water, electricity and roads).
