Last year, during the long holiday courtesy of COVID-19 Outbreak, a number of children became very indisciplined with many girls becoming pregnant.

All stakeholders agreed that childern are safer at school with teachers than when they are at home.

Teachers are to mentor the learners by instilling values and attitudes that will help them Succeed in life.

What a better way of mentoring than doing it as students watch? That is exactly what the deputy Principal of lugulu mixed high school Busia has done this evening.

The deputy Mr Pius Wanyama together with Teachers from the school faced their Counterparts from the neighbouring Bwaliro secondary school in Busia county for a football match.

Carefully selected teams from both sides locked horns before learners who seemed very happy to see their teachers do what they rarely see them doing.

The most exciting moment came when Mr Shikuku, an English teacher from lugulu scored a goal sending students into a frenzy.

Learners could be heard shouting with excitement whenever their deputy touched a ball giving good passes.

And finally when he scored, it was a very special moment as learners were overexcited chanting with ululations as the game ended 2-2.

The 59 year old is due for retirement next year but very strong as he played from the first minute to the end to the bemusement of students.

Recently, a photo of a Machakos Principal eating with excited learners in the school's dining hall went viral as netizens Lauded him for his humility.
