Kieni Constituency member of Parliament Kanini Kega and his counterpart Murang'a county Women Representative Sabina Chege have been amongst the key persons who are taking part in former prime minister Raila Odinga's presidential campaign trail.

Despite their existence and many other Mt Kenya leaders in Azimio One Kenya who are supposed to take charge and campaign for the president Uhuru handshake soulmate in Mt Kenya, his popularity in the vote rich region is still wanting even as days to August polls elapse with speed.

However, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is now pointing fingers at their fellow Jubilee counterparts accusing them for not committing themselves to selling the opposition chief in Mt Kenya region, instead advising residents to make personal choices.

In a good example, Meru county Governor Kiraitu Murungi who is seeking to be re-elected has been heard in his campaigns asking Kenyans to consider him as he seeks to defend his seat, but says they should elect whoever they wish in the presidency race.

The region is perceived to play a major role in deciding the August polls due to the large numbers since both deputy President William Ruto and Raila Odinga heavily depends on their support to win elections.
