Today, everybody is complaining about the traffic in Accra. This article will focus on the motor traffic situation in the capital city of Ghana, Accra. The traffic situation in the city has worsened as a result of increasing population as well as a considerable increase in the use of vehicles. These vehicles ply on the same roads with the same size as in previous years. It's long past time for the government to expand our major roads in the country, especially in the capital city!
It is expected that by 2030, no one will be able to drive their cars due to the city's relentless population increase and car importation, as well as the same road networks. To the rescue, just the railway or the promised sky trains! Who cares about the future, though?
Meanwhile Government has espoused great ideas with regards to the introduction and expansion of railways and sky trains which are similar to the ones being used in technologically advanced countries such as Japan and South Korea. Although, the railway industry is working on a variety of major ventures, but progress has been slow. Hopefully, we will get there one day.
