The speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi has reprimanded Parliamentary staff who normally draft the questions that are normally asked by the Members of Parliament.
This follows a complaint that emerged after Dagoretti Constituency Member of Parliament Honourable John Kiarie alias KJ had asked a question and it emerged that his questions contained sone errors.
According to speaker Justin Muturi, most of the questions asked on the floor of the House contained several grammatical errors and that would not be allowed saying that the specific staff were portraying their incompetent.
"Speaker of the National Assembly @SpeakerJBMuturi reprimands staff of parliament who draft questions for Members of Parliament for their continued grammatical errors. Says they are incompetent. He was referring to the question by Dagoretti S MP John Kiarie"Philip Etale.
In the National Assembly, the administrative head is the Clerk of the National Assembly the current one being Mr Michael Sialai who is responsible for all policy and organizational matters relating to the National Assembly;
He is also responsible in enhancing public understanding and knowledge of the work of the National Assembly and increasing public accessibility and hence the need to ensure that some slight issues like grammar are dealt with.
Michael Sialai is also the principal adviser on all Parliamentary procedures, practices, conventions and traditions to the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Deputy Speaker, other Presiding Officers and to all Honorable Members, this places him in the forefront to today's Justin Muturi reprimands.
