Discussions from NDC's press conference on Chief Justice's $5million bribery saga

The biggest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress stated its position on the alleged Chief Justice's bribery saga.

According to the NDC, who was represented by Mr Aseidu Nketia, they are calling on the chief justice to step aside for the investigation to go on since the disciplinarian cannot discipline himself.

He also cited the Judiciary disciplinary act as the basis for which the chief justice should step aside for a credible investigation to be carried out.

It can be recalled it came into public domain after Lawyer Kwasi Afrifa alleged the Chief Justice His Lordship Anim Yeboah asked for $5million bribe for him to rule in his favour in impending litigation case that is pending in the highest court of the land.

According to the renowned lawyer, the chief Justice also recommended Lawyer Akoto Ampaw esq. to be the representative on the case hence the petitioner should drop the services of Lawyer Akwasi Afrifa esq.

Mr Aseidu Nketia also touched on the need for a serious investigation into this matter because of Ghana's reputation internationally when it comes to production of lawyers and our judicial system generally.

More to drop soon......
