According to a report by The PUNCH, Security Operatives attached to the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two suspected protesters at the Lekki toll plaza in the state.
One of the arrested persons claimed to be a journalist who arrived at the tollgate to report on the purported memorial protest scheduled to take place at the Lekki tollgate today, while the other culprit was seen carrying a placard.
No fewer than 30 anit-riot vehicles and personnel have been sighted at the tollgate as the Lagos State Police Command is ensuring that there are no protests taking place in the area.
Recall that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Hakeem Odumosu had warned that the Command would not tolerate any form of street protests to mark the 1st anniversary of the #EndSars protests in Lagos. He said the command would only permit indoor events and virtual meetings and that the police would be willing to provide adequate security at the venues of the event if properly informed.
