As you celebrate Mashujaa Day, here are two Kenyan footballers, Francis Kahata and Farouk Shikalo, who are raising the Kenyan flag high on the field.

Francis Kahata joined Sidama Coffee after leaving Simba, where his contract expired in June. Kahata made his debut in his first Ethiopian Derby, dubbed the Coffee Derby, when his team Sidama faced Ethiopian Coffee at the Hawassa stadium. In the 65th minute, Kahata came off the bench and breathed new life into Sidama's game. Kahata almost had a dream debut, but his well-placed assist was squandered by his Sidama teammate Frew Solomon, who had a poor first touch in front of goal. The game ended in a stalemate.

Farouk Shikalo's career at Ligii Kuu Bara has been filled with highs and lows, such as playing for Yanga and now for KMC. His most recent KMC match pitted him against his former employer Yanga. Despite some good saves from Shikalo, his team was defeated 2-0. Shikalo was a regular Harambee Stars squad member under Ghost Mulei, so getting enough minutes could just earn him a spot back on Engin Firat's squad.
