The battle to succeed president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto has taken a new turn of events. The duo came to power in 2013 for their first term and 2017 for their second and last term. Come next year August, Kenyans are expected to go back to the ballot and elect on of their own who will steer the country ahead with vigor and valour. Already political boardroom meetings are being witnessed in the country as leaders search for a better alliance to win the elections.

But this seems not to be the case, sources close to the standard newspaper, have revealed plans by top government officials to delay the elections. It's alleged that Kenyans are facing tough economic times and hence there is no time to prepare for the elections. Equally there are other pressing matters such as; BBI referendum, change of IEBC officials, marking and gazetting new political boundaries among others that must be dealt with before we enter the general elections.
With this secret plan now revealed, Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has come out gun blazing that such will never happen. Kuria has constantly reminded the citizens that elections can never be postponed at all cost and hence they should be ready with their election cards. In his late night tweet he threatened that unless he is killed that's when elections will be postponed.
