The Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has drawn the attention of both prospective corps members (PCMs) and Corps members (CMs) to the unacceptable and manipulative techniques used by fraudsters to extort money from them.
As most people already know, NYSC management have always been very proactive in ensuring that the high standards of the scheme are maintained by given forewarning about any fraudulent activities or unacceptable practices whatsoever, also in a bid to ensure the Corp members don't fall victims to such acts.
In the statement released on the NYSC official page on Facebook, they pointed out that social media has been flooded with advertorials by some fraudsters requesting the PCMs and the CMs to part with some money to secure deployment or relocation to States of choice, as the case may be, while this shouldn't be so.
Most Corps members may have fallen prey to this, and it's even more disturbing because the said fraudsters now claims to be staff members of the National Youth Service Corps, all in their evil bid to carry out their fraudulent activities and make money from students.
However, the management made it clear that such advertorials are fraudulent, noting that services rendered by the Scheme such are redeployment, relocation, and others, are all Free, and never to be paid for as far as corp members follow the laid down policies of the scheme as each request will be treated based on merit.
Therefore, PCMs and CMs are cautioned against being defrauded by the fraudsters who daily devise new methods to defraud unsuspecting people.
They also urge Corps members to always be on the alert, and never to hesitate on demanding clarification on any issue bordering on the Scheme from official sources.
