UCL: How Group A, B, C, D Table Looks & Teams Most Likely To Qualify After 2ND Round Of Games

The first round of match day two Champions League matches was very interesting as the fans were treated to some wonderful games and surprise results, FC Porto didn't provide much resistance as Liverpool ran riot in Portugal securing a 5-1 victory, the surprise package of the match day was Real Madrid slumping to a 1-2 home defeat to Champions League debutants Sherrif Tiraspol.

After the games a look at the various tables shows huge changes, for some the changes are positive while for others to the changes are negative.

We will be taking a look at the tables of group A, B, C, and D, and predicting the teams most likely to progress to the next stage of the competition.


PSG currently lead the group after their impressive showing against Manchester City that saw them win 2-0, Lionel Messi finally opened his PSG goal account, the other goal scorer Gana Gueye.

In the other fixture, Club Brugge stunned RB Leipzig in Germany as they ran out 2-1 winners, the Belgian side now seat behind PSG in second position, goal difference separates both sides.

Man City needs to step up or lose their game, at the moment PSG and Club Brugge are the teams most likely to progress to the round of 16.


Liverpool were unstoppable against FC Porto as they hit the Portuguese team five goals, Mohamed Salah go on the score sheet alongside Firmino, Porto could only get one goal as the game ended 5-1, AC Milan once Again fell short as they were beaten 2-1 by Atletico Madrid, the Italian team led for the most part of the game but they succumbed to two late goals from Antoine Griezmann and Luis Suarez.

As expected Liverpool and Atletico Madrid will make it out of the group, the battle is for who will be group leaders, Liverpool might just have more than enough to outwit the Spanish Champions.


Ajax and Borussia Dortmund currently top the group with six points each, but Ajax have a superior goal difference after defeating Besiktas 2-0, Dortmund scrapped out a 1-0 victory over Sporting Lisbon.

Both Ajax and Dortmund have six points, they are most likely through to the next round already, but who will be group leaders?


Karim Benzema's penalty was unable to salvage a point for Real Madrid as Sherrif Tiraspol defeated them 2-1, Inter Milan were held to a barren draw by Shakhtar Donetsk.

Inter Milan and Shakhtar have just one point each while Real Madrid have three points, the surprise table toppers are Sherrif Tiraspol with 6 points, the UCL debutants are looking most likely to progress to the next round alongside Real Madrid.
