Dosbandment of the FKF: The Secretary of the Cabinet for Sports, Ambassador Amina Mohamed, has dissolved the FKF. CS Amina then appointed an interim committee to be chaired by retired judge Judge Aaron Ringera.

The displacement of the FKF ended the tumultuous reign of FKF President Nick Mwendwa, who faces allegations of corruption. Mwendwa is also widely accused of denigrating local football. However, CS Amina's decision put Kenya at risk of a ban by world football's governing body, Fifa.
