Nigerians Pay Tribute to Dr. Adadevoh 6 Years After She Saved Millions of Nigerians From Ebola Virus.

It is exactly six years today that Nigeria lost a true heroine and a nationalist, Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh, whose action saved millions of Nigerians from the deadly Ebola virus.

Dr. Adadevoh work at a private hospital in Lagos State in 2014, she was on duty when a Liberian National named Patrick Sawyer was rushed to the hospital, this was the period when the Ebola virus was at its peak and has already spread in some West African countries like Congo, Liberia, and others.

When Dr. Adadevoh notice that the Liberian national symptoms are similar to the Ebola virus symptoms, she did all she could do to ensure Sawyer did not leave the center even when he wanted to.

Dr. Stella Adadevoh contracted the disease in the process and died days after.

The doctor's action cannot be forgotten in the history of Nigeria. She stopped the foreign from spreading the highly contagious disease in the society by holding him down in her clinic.

The government has tried to immortalize her memory by naming some medical centers after her, but many Nigerians still want the government to do more for her and other medical personnel who died during the Ebola virus pandemic.

I suggest FGN should build Nigeria Biggest Medical facility ever and named it after her! And make a permanent trustee with the family that should any of her lineage decide to study medicine in Nigeria it will be a complete scholarship and auto employment!

As of today marks six years remembrance of her death, many Nigerians including politicians and celebrities have paid tribute to the late icon and heroine.

"6 years ago, Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh gave her life to save 200m Nigerians from a more dangerous virus than Covid19.

She was the first true Heroine of Lagos, & indeed Nigeria.

May God continues to uplift her family, and may her soul continue to rest in peace." Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi, Former governorship candidate for Lagos State said on his Twitter handle.

"We lost one of Nigeria's best and courageous physicians, Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh, on this day in 2014. She was one of the front line doctors who helped curb the spread of the Ebola epidemic in Nigeria. The life-endangering roles she played will always be remembered. R.I.P Heroine." Don Jazzy also posted on his Twitter handle.

Many other Nigerians have paid tribute to the late heroine.
