The Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) being its 4th year in Kenya since it was inintroduced in 2017 have brought about an argumentative debate amongst Kenyan citizens. mind. Some of the people complaining that the education system have no impact on students while others have got different views. This education system was put in placr by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development(KICD) having replaced the 8-4-4 education system. The curriculum system aims at improving the learner’s ability to develop skills and knowledge.
The Competency-Based Curriculum applies a 2-6-6-3 system where classes are divided into Grades and these major divisions that include:
a. Early years Educations
b. Middle school Education

A survey was conducted on parents on the efficiency of the education system where majority of Kenyans are supporting it. Though, they love the education system but still they complain that they incur alot of unnecessary charges.By this they are convinced that the education system is kind of expensive compared to 8-4-4.
This system was put in place so that all students are accommodated at school whether academically sharp or not. It was realized that some students are food at others activities other than academic but they ha e got no time to show off these abilities. This was also to embrace talents among students. This education system makes students to creative thinkers and can help through such knowledge they can help achieve the Kenyan Vision 2030.
Despite the cost and expenses of Competency Based Curriculum by parents incurring other charges, but all they all agree that the benefits are more than challenges.
