Attorney General Could Have Nominated A Better Choice For the SP Position- Alhassan Suhuyini

The Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhassan Suhuyini said the nominee for the Special Prosecutor’s Office have to be occupied by a people with a certain pedigree in life.

According to him, the Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame have to nominate a person that is more in good standing to succeed Martin Amidu. He said the current Nominee is not fit to occupy such significant position.

Speaking with Samson Lardy on News File, he said “the man is full of allegations and accusations which he has to come clean”. He thinks someone aspiring to occupy the Special Prosecutors office has to gain the trust and confidence of the citizens.

In addition, he spoke about the role the nominee played in the controversial Agyapa Royalties Limited which is set to come back to parliament. He is one of the Lawyers advising the government on the transaction that involves our gold in perpetuity.

He said Gabby Ochere Darko is close to the nominee. They have worked for so long and that could have influence the appointment, and in an extension, he will be ineffective and performed under expectation.

Again, he made the point that, Martin Amidu is seen to be Political, but not Partisan. Kisi Agyebeng might be seen by the public as not political, but he is partisan. He sighted the nominee’s partisan comments in 2013 after the supreme court ruling on the election petition.
