1. APC Crisis: Police Seal Off APC National Secretariat In Abuja

The National Secretariat of the All Progressive Congress {APC} in Abuja has reportedly been sealed off by men of the Nigerian Police Force. APC National Secretariat

According to reports reaching us, it has been confirmed that as early as 9 am today June 25th, 2 Hilux patrol vans and 2 Peugeot 604 cars have been stationed at strategic positions around the APC National secretariat. Members of staffs of the party who arrived at the secretariat to resume their daily duties were asked to leave their offices immediately by the police after which they sealed up the secretariat refusing every other person entry into the secretariat.

2. Police Stop APC National Secretary, Waziri Bulama, From Entering Party Secretariat

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Arc Waziri Bulama, has been denied access into the National Secretariat by police operatives, after the police sealed off the building.

The policemen stopped Bulama after he arrived the secretariat in Abuja around 10:50 am in a black Toyota Land Cruiser Sports Utility Vehicle with registration number Abuja, Abj-140DN. Bulama said no one had notified the party of the seal off by the Nigerian Police Force.

3. Rivers State Gives New Guidelines For Weddings In The State

The Rivers state government today released new set of guidelines on how weddings will be done in the state. The state government gave out the new rules and regulation via a press statement and couples who default will be made to pay a sum of N10 million naira.

All Weddings/Marraiges have an attendance limit of 50 people. The names, addresses and phone number of all attendees made available with the application (To enable quick contact tracing if the need arises). Soap and running water has to be kept at the entrance to the venue in not less than three places while all attendees are to wear face masks and maintain social distancing of not less than 2 meters.

4. Ghanaian Government Promises To Rebuild Demolished Nigerian High Commission In Ghana

The Ghanian government has promised to rebuild Nigeria’s High commission in Ghana which was demolished a few days ago. The country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Mrs Shirley Ayokor Botchewey said the demolished building will be restored to its original state.

Botchewey further revealed that Nigeria paid for the land 20 years ago even though the High Commission could not produce the lease, land title certificate and building permit of the land. She disclosed that a committee consisting of officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ghana Police Service, National Security, and the Lands Commission had been constituted to investigate the unlawful demolition of the building.

5. Uproar As Bowen University Sacks 127 Members Of Staff

The economic effects of the Coronavirus pandemic continue to deepen across the country as more and more organisations continue to downsize and engage in mass retrenchment so as to keep firms afloat.

The latest to join the growing list of Organisations to downsized would be the private tertiary institution in Osun State, Bowen University.

According to reports, the private university located at Iwo in Osun State, sacked over 100 workers on Tuesday, June 23.

It was gathered that the sacked staffers received their letters of disengagement through email late on Tuesday.

One of the affected staff said the school claimed that the economic crisis caused by COVID-19 pandemic was the reason for the retrenchment.

6. Nollywood Veteran Actor Gbolagade Akinpelu “Ogun Majek” Is Dead

Veteran Nollywood actor Gbolagade Akinpelu, popularly known as Ogun Majek is dead age 72.

KOKO TV gathered that the Nollywood legend who was reported about a month back to be ill and fighting for his life has on Thursday morning passed away at his Imalefalafia, Oke-Ado, Ibadan home.
