South Africans are still in shock after the announcement that there is a new corona virus variant that has been detected. It was confirmed on Thursday that a new variant has been detected and that has caused so many frustrations to the masses. It has been over a year and eight months since the first case of corona virus was detected in South Africa where almost three million cases were confirmed and more than eighty thousand people succumbed to this virus. Many families were left in reeling after losing their loved ones who succumbed to this virus.

The past three days corona virus cases have been increasing so rapidly and that has brought so much concern to the country. Yesterday more than two thousand cases were confirmed and twelve people were confirmed dead. This has made the government to act so fast to ensure the safety of citizens in the country. Today the president Cyril Ramaphosa will be in a discussion with the corona virus council discussing on the way forward as we are already in the 4th wave. Today they will decide on the measures that will taken in order to curb the spread of corona virus and Ramaphosa is expected to address the nation soon, possibly tomorrow.

There are rumors that South Africa might be taken back to a national lock down as a way to curb the spread. Although people do not want that it is still going to be done by those who are in power.Health minister Dr Joe Phaahla says there is a possibility of an Interprovincial travel ban this coming festive season as a way to curb the spread of corona virus. Our experts have indicated that movement is the one that moves the virus. There might be some proposal on restricting the movement of Interprovincial travel " he said.

He has revealed how concerning the rise in corona virus cases is and the government will implement rules to curb the spread of corona virus. Some of the things to be restricted include selling of alcohol, gatherings and the list goes on. The country is being urged to continue wearing the masks and following all corona virus regulations.
