Just In: Information Minister Instructs Stakeholders To Clamp Down All 'Sakawa' Contents On TV


The Minister of information, Hon Kwadwo Oppong Nkrumah has instructed stakeholders on Broadcasting in Ghana to Clamp Down any unethical and offensive broadcasting content on the media platforms.

In a press briefing this afternoon, the Minister delivered three briefs as another working week starts tomorrow. First, the Minister updated on the consultative forum with stakeholders on Broadcasting in Ghana.

Open deliberations, stakeholders agreed to take immediate measures in clamping down unethical and offensive broadcasting content on our media platforms.

Second is information from the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC) on how they are taking steps to ensure that the $2.7 billion worth of investment accrued to Ghana in 2020 is put to full use for the benefits of all.

Final brief was an update from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) on the need not to panic when the deployment of the second jab of Covid19 vaccines delay.

This instruction comes after a call by Ghanaians to close down any media station broadcasting quick money and double money advertisements.
