Over the past one week, Raila Odinga has faced a lot of opposition from Kenyans and fellow politicians after he said that he was planning to end the Mitumba business in the country if he wins the presidential election. This attracted a lot of hatred and criticism from people who said he was going to kill the livelihood of many Kenyan people.
After a long silence, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka who rejoined with Azimio recently has come out to defend Raila's last Monday remarks. Speaking on Sunday, Kalonzo said that Raila had been misquoted by people and what they think is not what he meant. The Wiper leader said that Raila had said Mitumba business will continue but the clothes will be produced in Kenya. This will therefore increase the outcome for Kenyans as well as revenue for the government.
"I was there when Raila launched our Manifesto. Alisema Mitumba itaendelea lakini Mitumba itakuwa inatengenezwa hapa Kenya tukiimarisha kupanda Kwa pamba. Kwa hivyo hakuwa anaongea mbaya. Wakome watafute kwingine. Wana Azimio wote wanaheshimu wanamitumba wote," Kalonzo said.
