Juventus has reached an agreement to sign Barcelona midfielder Arthur in a 72million euros deal ($80.98million).
The 23-year old Breazilian, whose contract with the Catalan side is due to expire by the end of the 2019/2020 season has agreed to move to Turin before the deal was finalised.
Arthur who joined Barcelona from Brazilian side Gremio, in 2018 was initially tipped to fill the boots of club legend Xavi Hernandez. But unfortunately, the midfielder has made only 14 starts this season after racking up 19 in his first season at the club. Though the brazilian has wished to stay at the Nou Camp to fight for his place, the Catalan side desperately needed the proceeds to fund a move for Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic who is valued around 60million euros.
New manager Quiqui Setien had ealier claimed that Authur failed to live up to expectations, and things has been made difficult since the arrival of Arturo Vidal and Ousmane Dembele, leaving him in and out of the starting XI.
Arthur is still a Barcelona player till August, and might even play in the Champions League when it resumes later on.
