Liverpool star will almost certainly miss Sunday's clash against Manchester City at Anfield through injury which leaves uncertainty over who will step in at right-back.

Alexander-Arnold suffered an adductor problem in training on Monday and it's bad news for the league leaders as his absence will be keenly be felt against Pep Guardiola’s side. He is set to miss Sunday’s game as well as the forthcoming internationals with England.

Here, we take a look at the options available to the Reds boss.

James Milner

The most obvious solution will be to ask Liverpool’s Mr . Reliable, to step in at right-back.

Joe Gomez

The England international has played at the right-back plenty of times in the past and he also replaced Milner against Porto in the UCL match on Tuesday.

Neco Williams

Liverpool has been boosted this week by the return of Neco Williams, the Wales international having recovered from his muscle problem. He made 14 appearances last season but has not started a game since March.

Kostas Tsimikas

Tsimikas is a natural left-back but can be asked to move across to the opposite flank.

Kostas Tsimikas was impressive in the early weeks of the season as deputy to the brilliant Andy Robertson.
