A Nigerian Local Govt. Council Chairman Donates Computers to Prisoners

There seems to be no let up in the resolve by the Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. George Alli, to reach out and to touch as many lives as possible.

Hon. Alli and Bashiru Oyahkilome Adamu, President and founder of Dream Again Prison And Youth Foundation, this past week, took their humanitarian efforts to the Otukpo Correctional Center, the Foundation donated uniforms to the students and three sets of Desktop computers to aid their learning. 

The Otukpo LG Chairman, there and then, paid momentary fine in various sums, on behalf of five lucky inmates over offences for which they were held.  

Hon. Alli, while addressing the inmates, expressed his delight at the efforts of people like Bashiru Adamu who have been "impacting knowledge on inmates in the various correctional centers in Otukpo, Igah, Gboko and other parts of Nigeria. He particularly commended Bashiru Oyahkilome Adamu who came to Otukpo, first as a Corper, but saw opportunity to make a difference and change lives of people that society almost gave up on". He also thanked the leadership of the Otukpo Correctional Center for their professional approaches to managing the facility in Otukpo.

The Otukpo Council Boss charged those who regained their freedom through the payment of fine to do all they can to turn a new leaf when they leave the facility. The inmates thanked Hon. George Alli profusely for coming to their aid. 

Bashiru Adamu, thanked the Chairman for his leadership style and for honouring him and the inmates with his presence. He said his organization, aside provision of books to the inmates had over the years paid fines on behalf of many inmates who are not only out, but are also contributing positively to society due to the impact Dream Again Foundation had on them. Mr. Adamu said the foundation have many progammes lined up and needs assistance to follow through. 

The Chief Supretendent of Corrections, Otukpo Correctional Center, Adobunu michael, who was on hand to receive the August visitors, poured encomium on Rt. Hon. George Alli for his "leadership style, his humanity and humility". He prayed God to lift Alli higher to continue the good works he is doing.
