The Member of Parliament for the Ofoase Ayirebi constituency, Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has noted that the Criminal Investigation Department of the police service should be clinical with their investigation concerning the incident that happened at Ejura in the Ashanti Region. He noted that Government is very concerned about what happened between the youth of Ejura and the military.
He added that how the CID do their work does not put confidence in the populace. He added the police should be quick this time so that the people will have confidence in the outcome of the investigation.
"Our security agencies should be quick and clinical in getting to the bottom of the of this and other unresolved crimes. While we understand that Police investigations sometimes take a while it doesn’t not instill confidence in the population if such acts go unresolved and unpunished quickly. So the Police need to get to the bottom of this and justice must be done". He noted.
The president on the other hand has ordered the Interior Minister to probe into the incident. From the statement of Nana Addo, the Interior Minister has only ten days to do his work.
Is Kojo Oppong Nkrumah right, do we have confidence in the CID. They tend to delay in every investigation they do and later comes out with unsatisfied outcome.
