With the countdown to the highly anticipated 2022 general elections underway, political tensions have gradually increased as new facts emerge every day.
On Monday, January 17, President Uhuru Kenyatta met with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga and One Alliance Kenya (OKA) leaders at a banquet honoring visiting Hungarian President Janos Ader.
While the meeting's specifics have not been released, a dispatch from the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) verified the attendance of Gideon Moi, Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi, and Kalonzo Musyoka.

The President had invited the leaders to the late-night dinner.
However, this is not the first time Odinga and OKA leaders have met with President Kenyatta at State House, with earlier encounters raising political eyebrows.
The Monday night gathering comes only days after OKA principals declined to attend a luncheon at the State House on January 13 despite invitations.
