A twelve year old primary six (6) student has been allegedly defiled by a fifty-five (55) year old liquor seller and farmer at Fomena in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region. The accused, Bright Bosompem, was accused of luring the young girl into his residence on New Year's day and defiled her. During a hearing in court on Wednesday, January 19th, 2022, the presiding judge, her Lordship Joyce Boahen granted the accused a GH¢50,000 bail with two sureties based on health conditions.
In an interview with Akoma FM's Nana Yaw Opoku, the mother of the victim, Auntie Akosua Abuyaa pleaded with the police for swift processes to ensure that justice is served to her daughter and also to serve as a deterrent to other men. Detective Inspector, Joseph Boakye Danquah of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at the Fomena Police Command said he is happy that the case has finally been brought to the court for prosecution. The case has been adjourned to Thursday, February 10, 2022 by the presiding judge.
