Belgian club Genk are leaving no stone unturned as they prepare for the new season. 

The four-time Belgian champions have already signed centre-back Mujaid Sadick from Deportivo La Coruna and attacking midfielder Tresor Ndayishimiye from Dutch club Willem II.

They are also looking to improve their attack as Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has been linked with a summer move away from the club.

'Captain' Cyriel Dessers scores third pre-season goal

Having struggled for game time last season, Dessers has looked promising in pre-season.

On Wednesday, the one-cap Super Eagles striker came off the bench to score his third pre-season goal in Genk's 1-1 draw with Dutch club AZ Alkmaar.

Dessers, who scored twice in Genk's 8-1 win over Eendracht Termien was also given the captain's armband in the second half.

This is not the first time Dessers is captaining the team in pre-season, as he wore the captain's armband in the game against Eendracht Termien and Eupen.

Onuachu returns

Onuachu, who recently resumed training played his first pre-season game for Genk as they drew with AZ Alkmaar. 

His return is coming just at the right time as Genk face Club Brugge in the final of the Belgian Super Cup on Saturday, July 17.

The 27-year-old was one of the hottest strikers in Europe last season, having scored 35 goals in all competitions. His brilliant form last season has also seen him attract interest from clubs in France, England, and Germany.

Genk are favourites to sign Ugbo 

Ugbo, 22, could be putting on the colours of Genk next season as Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Belgian club are currently the favourites to sign him.

Genk are willing to pay £5m for the services for the Chelsea striker, who had a brilliant season in Belgium last season.

The 22-year-old Nigerian, who is seen as an alternative to Onuachu scored 16 league goals for Cercle Brugge last season.
