The journey that started on 26 June last year is about to be successful. The Npower-batch c successful applicants have been deployed and will soon commence work next month, as announced by the FG.
Many who registered have lost hope, some have forgotten that such a thing existed, but now that the dream of 30,000 monthly stipend is close to materializing, the successful candidates will now sleep with their eyes closed. This batch c was so stressful in the sense that it lingered for too long compared to previous A and B batches, which didn't take much time to get paid. Some who registered for batch c may have died because of the bad state of the Nigerian economy. Some may have traveled out to Benin Republic or Togo in search for greener pastures.
The FG, when saw that many Nigerian youths were jobless, decided to initiate the Npower program to help alleviate poverty and hunger in Nigeria. It will be recalled that the last group of individuals who participated in batch B, which was the last batch, suffered untold hardship because of delayed payment of the 30,000 monthly payment. Many times they went on strike, rallies, to pressure the Humanitarian Affairs Minister, Mrs. Sadiya Umar Farouq, who is in charge of the program, to release their money.
But in this new batch, the humanitarian affairs Minister was in charge of registration, shortlisting and deployment, therefore she shouldn't have had any reason to delay payments as they were due. Because in the previous face off she had with the last batch on delay of payment, she always complained that she was still putting things in order, since she was not formerly in charge of the program, but was employed in the middle of the game.
Nigerians are happy to see the end of the long awaited salvation coming to 1 million Nigerian youths, who are going to be the beneficiaries of this project. Even though deployment has started, there are still those who are yet to be shortlisted. They should exercise some patience, and keep on checking their Npower profile for updates. Npower-Build, etc. Npower was designed for young people between the ages of 18-35 years.
