Premier league giants Manchester United will be losing their club legend Nicky Butt as the former midfielder has chosen to leave the club in search of greener pastures.
The maestro who was known for his tenacious tough tackling approach during his playing days has been the head of first team development at the Old Trafford based club.
Butt has performed the behind the scenes role for the past nine years but has now decided the time is ripe to move on to a new challenge elsewhere as he confirmed his imminent departure.
"I already know from my playing days how difficult it is to leave Manchester United, but it feels like the right moment for a new professional challenge and I look forward to exploring opportunities that build on the great experiences I’ve had here over the past nine years." Butt said.
The 46 year old who made 387 appearances for the Red devils as a player has been lauded for his tireless efforts of nurturing talents in the Aon training complex.
Although it is not clear where he is headed,their is speculation he could be heading to league 2 side Salford where he owns shares at the club along with the class of 92.
