Bokoharam is desperately trying to create tension among Nigerians. They want people to feel they are still in power despite the surrender of over 6,000 members of the dreaded group. A figure that amounts to half the population of its members. Not to talk of those who have been killed and arrested by security operatives.
You've heard the saying "desperate times calls for desperate measures". Their fighters are devising different measures to serve as a soft landing for them. The disgrace is too much for them and they have now resulted in spreading uneven propaganda. They have spread different propaganda in the past, at one time, they shared fliers of defamation against the military to people in Borno saying they are their friends and the military is the enemy.
To understand how desperate they are to make Nigerians believe they have scored a victory, they are spreading another propaganda that they have seized vehicles from the military in Rann, Borno State. According to Sahara Reporters, the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah we'll-Jihād, displayed a military vehicle manufactured by Innoson Motor captured from Nigerian soldiers, which according to them were captured when they dislodged a military base in Rann, the administrative headquarters of Kala-Balge Local Government Area of Borno State.
This is another propaganda they want Nigerians to believe, and think they are winning the war. This in their series of propaganda is not true, because no military base in Rann was reported by the military to have been attacked by ISWAP. The military has rather dealt with them and they are losing. Among the propaganda they have been unleashing, is that they are attacking villages and markets, a more reason people should be very vigilant of any intruder.
