The former governor of the Nairobi county, Mike Mbuvi Sonko recently warned all M-Pesa users to beware of fake M-Pesa agents and confessed that he had been conned Kshs 70k by M-Shwari and KCB-Mpesa with urgency where the crooks behind that action got the maximum allowable loans from all mobile phone based creditors.
He later revealed that the conmen were fake M-Pesa agents who were pretending that they were offering free Safaricom and Airtel lines. In the process of registering the new mobile-card, they took his details and used them access his password from the safaricom servers.
Shark Attack commented this about the issue, "I think you lost it. I'm blacklisted with CRB for defaulting a Tala loan, and I have a Fuliza and mshwari limit of 8,000 and 13,000 respectively."
Dante also wrote, "It's not your simcard that determines whether you qualify or not. It's your ID/no which is linked to your bank account. That is why loan limits are not the same for everyone. Whether it's from apps or mshwari and kcb mpesa."
